While Republicans moved urgency on bipartisan anti-fraud legislation to create an independent Office of Inspector General, Democrats voted it down and instead pushed a political messaging bill attacking federal immigration enforcement.
When I pointed out the consequences of that rhetoric, Democrats erupted — shouting, interrupting, and declaring I would not be “allowed” to speak.
That’s not how democratic institutions work.
